The 2009 vintage in Bordeaux produced many exceptional wines, especially in the appellations on the left bank of the Gironde River on the Medoc peninsula. There's simply no doubt about that. The Wine Spectator rated the vintage 97-100 point and Robert Parker rated the different regions of Bordeaux anywhere from 97-99 points.

What is not true is the idea some people have that they are all expensive. While the big name wines like Lafite, Latour, Mouton, etc. are certainly expensive, there are many more wines that provide great drinking at very reasonable prices.

One of those values is the 2009 Chateau Bel Air Haut Medoc. This small property was out of production from the late 60’s until it was replanted in the 80’s with a mixture of Cabernet and Merlot. Now it is producing the best wines in its 170 year history. In a great vintage like 2009, these “little wines” rise up and offer great QPR drinking.

2009 Chateau Bel Air is just a great value Bordeaux at an affordable price …$11.98! $1 per bottle shipping on six and Free Shipping on a Case!
