RP 90 pt 2007 Travis Chardonnay Unfiltered Monterey for under $15

2007 Travis Chardonnay Unfiltered Monterey

There truly is nothing like a good Chardonnay from California. While there are those who like theirs from oak, there is a rising trend. Unoaked chardonnays are becoming more popular thanks to their clean citrus fruit flavors. Gary's has this great example of an unoaked Chardonnay for $12.99! In fact, this bottle is so good that Robert Parker gave it a 90 point rating. Check out his review below:

Robert Parker 90 Points

These unoaked chardonnays represent terrific value. Even better is the gorgeous 2007 chardonnay, which possesses more of everything. Fuller bodied with more fruit, body, freshness and depth, it, like its older sibling, is best drunk during its first 2-3 years of life.

WA 92 pt rated 2007 Fabre Montmayou Malbec Gran Reserva Mendoza--now 20% off

2007 Fabre Montmayou Malbec Gran Reserva Mendoza

Wines from Argentina are great buys nowadays. Over the last seven years, the number of wines from there has tripled. Led by Malbec, these wines offer a lot of bang for your buck. They are also fruit-driven but not overly complex. The 2007 Fabre Montmayou Malbec Gran Reserva Mendoza is no exception. In fact, the Wine Advocate chose this Malbec as its 2007 top choice Malbec under $20. Gary's Wine and Marketplace has this choice bottle on sale for $19.99!

Wine Advocate 92 points:

"The 2007 Malbec Gran Reserva was sourced from 60+-year-old vineyards in Vistalba. It was aged in French oak for 10 months. Opaque purple-colored, it delivers an expressive perfume of pain grille, mineral, scorched earth, violets, and black cherry. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied with layers of savory dark fruit, ripe tannin, excellent balance, and an elegant personality. Give this outstanding effort 2-3 years in the cellar and enjoy it from 2011 to 2023.

WA 95pt Ribera del Duero under $40--Free Shipping with Purchase of Six Bottles or More

2005 Bodegas Aalto Ribera del Duero

It's a well-known fact that age plays a huge role in how a particular wine tastes. This is no exception when it comes to the 2005 Bodegas Aalto Ribera del Duero. Bodegas Aalto's fist vintage of this wine was nine years ago. Just like this wine, their craft has gotten better with age. Check out what The Wine Advocate had to say in its 95 point review:

The 2005 Bodegas Aalto is produced from 100% Tinto Fino grapes that have an average vine age of 60 years(some as old as 90 years). After 23 months in oak barrels, the final result is a big, thick, voluptuous wine loaded with crushed blackberry, blueberry, and cinnamon spice.

Normally a wine of this caliber would sell for at least $75 a bottle. However, Gary's Wine & Marketplace is selling it for $37.99. This is the lowest price in the entire country. But that's not all. We're sweetening the deal by throwing in free shipping when you purchase six bottles or more! We can't think of a better way for you to get your hands on some great wine.

2007 Chalone Vineyards Pinot Noir Monterey

It's a wonderful thing when we here at Gary's can honestly say we've been looking forward to receiving a shipment of a particular wine. This can easily be said of the 2007 Chalone Vineyards Pinot Noir Monterey. Since we sampled this Pinot from the barrel, we can easily say this is the best vintage since 2004. It could even be better.

James Laub from Wine Spectator had much praise to say about the 2007 California Pinot Noir, including "I've really enjoyed many of the 2007s. They are ripe, fleshy, balanced and consistently very good to outstanding". He also said "the 2007 vintage is shaping up as one of the best years ever for California Pinot Noir".

So not only is this Pinot from one of the best vintages in recent memory, it's also ON SALE! Normally $19.99, Gary's is selling this beauty for $12.09. That's 40% off the original price. 33% off WA 89 pt 2005 Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon

2005 Spottswoode Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon

Back in May 2009, we selected this Cabernet as one of our Premiere Selections. And for good reason too. This Cab comes from the same vineyard as the 96 point 2005 Spottswoode Cab. Delicious aromas of dark roasted coffee and brambly black fruit give way to a mouthful of ripe plums, chocolate and dark cherries on the palate. At 33% off, this is a great deal!

Robert Parker 89 Points

The 2005 Lyndenhurst Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits more restraint and delineation. It seems like a cooler climate wine compared to the more opulent 2004. It comes down to a matter of personal preference, but I liked the showiness and sensuality of the 2004, whereas structuralists and acid lovers will probably prefer the 2005. I would not be surprised to see the 2005 last longer, and actually move ahead of the 2004 in terms of quality in 4-5 years.

RP 96 and ST 94 2006 Dominus Estate Red Wine from Napa Valley

2006 Dominus Napa Valley Proprietary Red PreSale

It's June, and that means Summer is just around the corner. That means sun and barbecues. This Meritage is perfectly suited for times like those. With a 96 point rating from Robert Parker and a 94 point rating from Stephen Tanzer, it's a surefire winner for that dinner party. Arrival is expected in July, just in time for the best days of Summer.

Robert Parker 96 points:

"There are 6,500 cases of the superb 2006 Dominus (91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot). Its dark plum/purple color is accompanied by aromas and flavors of truffles, forest floor, black cherries, black currants, and Asian spices. One of the finest wines of the vintage, it is complete, full-bodied, and seamlessly built with beautiful ripe tannins, low acidity, and a luscious, layered mouthfeel. The aromatics are even more evolved and complex than the 2005's. The 2006 should drink well for 20-25 years."

Stephen Tanzer 94 points:
Bright red-ruby. Lovely floral lift contributes precision to the aromas of raspberry, rose petal and licorice. Sweet, high-pitched and sharply delineated; velvety but not thick. There's a juicy quality to the ripe red fruit, mineral and graphite flavors, not to mention a firm underlying spine, that promises a long and positive evolution in bottle. Quite young but not austere, finishing with building tannins and lovely lift. The lingering perfume of red fruits, pepper, flowers and licorice is unusually complex. A really superb 2006, seemingly every bit as good as the sensational 2005.
