What are the critics saying about the 2009 red Burgundies? Here are the thoughts of Bruce Sanderson of the Wine Spectator and Antonio Galloni of the Wine Advocate…
"The style of 2009 will have broad appeal for wine lovers because of their ripe, pure fruit flavors and fleshy textures….I tasted several excellent ripe, fruit-filled bottlings at the basic Bourgogne level, which will provide some value and relief from the sticker shock of the ’09 crus." Bruce Sanderson, WineSpectator.com
"The 2009s are fleshy, generous wines that are impressive for their textural richness….The sweet spot in 2009 is at the entry-level, where a great number of wines outperform their humble pedigrees….." Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate
We agree with both of them and continue to search out more of these entry-level sweet spot Burgundies from 2009.

Jon Visser, Wine Buyer 4 Stars -- Ripe raspberries and cherries on the nose and some Cotes de Nuits earthiness. There’s also a roasted fruit quality on the nose as well. Very Vosne-like style on the palate with its silkiness. Very rich and opulent with lots of raspberries, dark cherries, and some earthiness. This wine really features the amazing fruit from 2009.
