We are always looking to discover the new, exciting, great wine from a producer we’ve never seen before. But sometimes that great new wine is a new vintage being released from a great producer that we have known for many years, and who has a great track record.
Case in point. We recently tasted the 2008 Domaine Zind Humbrecht Pinot Blanc. It was outstanding. Loads of white fruits, great complexity, freshness, and good acidity. The fruit is sourced from two of Zind Humbrecht’s finest vineyards, Herrenweg and Rotenberg.
Even though the label says Pinot Blanc, it is actually a blend of 70% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot Blanc. The laws in Alsace allow them to bottle it either way, but any way you label it, the wine is delicious.

Wine Spectator 91 Points -- The smell of the sea winds through this full-bodied Pinot Blanc. Pretty peach, apricot, clementine and honeysuckle notes flesh it out, while zesty acidity provides a firm framework. Delicious on its own, but would pair well with seafood.
