Free Shipping on 3 or More
The new and hot winery on the scene in Washington is Rasa Vineyards. We recently tasted with their winemaker and were really impressed with the quality of the wines. Especially their 2007 QED Syrah, which was ripe and concentrated with great length and finesse on the finish. A super wine!
The formula for success is two brothers, Pinto and Billo Navarane, dedicated to making high quality Syrah only from estate grown fruit, and fruit from select growers of the best vineyards in Walla Walla Valley.
The 2007 QED is their inaugural wine and they've made quite a statement with the level of quality! The critics have agreed as well with scores of 94 in the Wine Spectator and 93 in the Wine Advocate.
A 94 point Syrah under $40 with Free Shipping on just 3 bottles!
Wine Spectator 94 points -- Supple, complex and distinctive for its black olive and mineral character, all wrapped in a blanket of ripe blackberry fruit and nappy tannins, persisting impressively on the long, vibrant finish. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Best from 2012 through 2017. 640 cases made. -HS
Jay Miller, Wine Advocate 93 points -- The first release, the 2007 QED is made up of 94% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 3% Mourvedre sourced from several top vineyards. It was aged in 25% new French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it offers up a classy nose of pepper, mineral, smoked meat, game, spice box, and blueberry. This leads to a mouth-filling, intense, super-concentrated, opulent wine that has enough underlying structure to evolve for 3-4 years. It will deliver much pleasure through 2022 if not longer. This is a very fine debut indeed!
