A Great Gift

Aside from Ozzie & Harriet, and Sonny & Cher: The Early Years, Gary's has put a duo of wines together that rival perfect pairs all over the world.

Celebrate all that is good with a harmonious dichotomy between Napa Valley's flagship Silver Oak Cabernet Sauvignon and Burgundy's golden Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne. The spicy mid palate and overall elegance and finesse of Silver Oak's 2004 Napa Valley Cabernet makes a lovely companion to the power and depth of Burgundy's finest Corton-Charlemagne of 2005- two collectibles, all at one price you can afford. With scores of 90 and 93 respectively, this holiday season marks the time to go for gold... and the silver too!

2004 Silver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: International Wine Cellar 90 Points

Good deep red. Black cherry, plum syrup and lead pencil on the nose, with a lightly roasted character and a meaty nuance. Quite pliant on the palate, with a much more velvety mouthfeel than the Alexander Valley offering and more mid-palate stuffing to support its toothcoating tannins. Here the wine's herbal element lifts the fruit. Not exactly fat but nicely sweet. Finishes with very good breadth and length.

2005 Louis Latour Corton Charlemagne: Wine Spectator 91 Points

Round, full-bodied and lush. Packs butter, apple, peach and spice flavors into a generous frame, with a good underlying structure. Firms up on the finish. Give it a few years to absorb the oak. Best from 2008 through 2018. 3,000 cases made. -BS
