Robert Parker recently released his latest Wine Advocate including his report on the 2008 vintage in Bordeaux. He sees many wines from 2008 rivaling their 2005s.
"... the quality of the 2008 vintage turned out to be excellent, with a number of superb wines that are close to, if not equal to the prodigious 2005 or 2000 vintages (two years with many of the best wines I have ever tasted from top to bottom)"
Robert Parker 92-94+ points
A brilliant effort from this hallowed vineyard sandwiched between La Fleur and Petrus, the 2008 exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of creme de cassis, kirsch, vanilla, and forest floor. The wine reveals remarkably sweet, ripe tannins, a full-bodied, layered, multidimensional mouthfeel, and a long finish. There is plenty of tannin, but it is so silky that this cuvee will be approachable in 3-4 years, and should last for 25+.
Wine Spectator 92-95 Points
Shows fresh strawberry and cherry aromas, with hints of fresh herbs. Full-bodied, with a solid core of ripe tannins and a long, caressing finish. Very balanced and pretty. -JShttp://www.garyswine.com/fine_wine/france/09592.html
