Limited Selection Apalta Vineyard
$1 per Bottle Shipping on 6, Free Shipping on Case
There’s no question Vina Montes produces some of the best wines coming out of Chile these days, especially with their Purple Angel and Alpha M bottlings. They also produce some of the best values coming out of Chile. One of those great values is the 2009 Montes Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenere Limited Selection from the Apalta Vineyard.
The Montes Cabernet Sauvignon-Carmenere Limited Selection is a great little QPR that over-delivers for its $10.99 price tag. Full-bodied and packs a lot of black fruits, spice, and structure for such a reasonably priced wine.
It received 90 points from the Wine Advocate and it received the highest score for a Chilean red from 2009 under $15 from James Molesworth of the Wine Spectator.
A great deal at just $10.99 per bottle with $1 per bottle shipping on six and Free Shipping on a Case!
Jay Miller, Wine Advocate 90 Points-- Glass-coating opaque purple; balsamic, incense, leather, and black fruits, dense, over-delivers.
Wine Spectator 88 Points-- Quite ripe, featuring soft but persistent fig sauce, blackberry and boysenberry flavors laced with cocoa and pudding hints. A lacing of graphite keeps this together on the finish. Drink now. 3,600 cases imported. -JM
