Everyone has heard of the world class Syrahs from Cayuse in Walla Walla Valley, Washington, who came onto the scene in 1998. Their first reviews from the Wine Spectator and the Wine Advocate were 93 and 87 respectively. Today, everything seems to be 95-98 points.

Wine Spectator 94 Points-- Supple, complex and distinctive for its black olive and mineral character, all wrapped in a blanket of ripe blackberry fruit and nappy tannins, persisting impressively on the long, vibrant finish. Jay Miller, Wine Advocate 93 Points-- The first release, the 2007 QED is made up of 94% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 3% Mourvedre sourced from several top vineyards. It was aged in 25% new French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it offers up a classy nose of pepper, mineral, smoked meat, game, spice box, and blueberry. This leads to a mouth-filling, intense, super-concentrated, opulent wine that has enough underlying structure to evolve for 3-4 years. It will deliver much pleasure through 2022 if not longer. This is a very fine debut indeed!
