The search for a quality Sauvignon Blanc under $10 is always a difficult task. For this reason we recently picked out a number of inexpensive Sauvignon Blancs from around the world to taste in hopes of finding a few quality ones.

What we discovered, which is no surprise, was that the best values seemed to be from Chile and New Zealand. Most of the New Zealand wines fell in the $10-15 range though. The Chileans were very reasonably priced below the $10 mark. The best of the group was the 2010 Casa Julia Sauvignon Blanc.

The 2010 Casa Julia Sauvignon Blanc displayed ripe honeydew melon and pear with a very soft and supple finish. It was just a perfect summer white wine, a fruit driven styled Sauvignon Blanc with a smooth finish. Josh Raynolds of the International Wine Cellar agreed with us, rating it 88 points!

Very well made Sauvignon Blanc for a bargain price at $7.99 per bottle, with $1 per bottle shipping on six and Free Shipping on a Case!

Josh Raynolds International Wine Cellar 88 Points-- Pale straw. Fresh pear, melon and quinine on the nose. Dry and nervy on entry, then fleshier in the middle, displaying chewy orchard fruit flavors and a sweet melon nuance. Nicely plump but focused, with good closing breadth and sappiness.
