The vintage of 2009 in Bordeaux was characterized by near perfect weather conditions in the spring and summer that led to concentrated ripe grapes with all the components to make great wine.
We traveled to Bordeaux for the annual "en primeur" tastings, and after sampling some 500+ barrel samples we feel confident in saying that there are many great wines. While there are some wines which didn't rise up to quality we expect, there are lots of tremendous wines in every appellation and price level. Our selections are based on what we tasted, choosing only the best in every region and price range to offer our customers.
We have started getting the first offers on the marvelous 2009 Bordeaux. You bought futures from us in the '05, '06, or '08 vintage, and we want you to be the first to receive the latest offerings that we have available. Listed here are some of our favorites from the early releases, there will be many more to come.
