Chablis-like Sauvignon Blanc and Burghound Approved

2009 Goissot Sauvignon St Bris Exogyra Virgula
$1 per Bottle Shipping on 6, Free Shipping on Case

We can’t remember the last time we saw an 88-91 point score from Allen Meadows of the Burghound for a white wine that sells for under $20 retail. It intrigued our French buyer so much that he bought solely based upon the review. We generally like to taste wines before we buy, but in this case we had to purchase it before we did.

When it finally arrived, we tasted it immediately. Curiosity paid off. It’s outstanding. The wine is the 2009 Goisot Sauvignon St Bris Exogyra Virgula.

Very complex nose of minerals, earth, and some citrus and floral notes. More minerals on the palate with some white fruits, good acidity, yet silky and layered. An awesome wine that is reminiscent of a cross between Sancerre and Chablis.

Allen Meadows called it an “Outstanding Top Value” and he’s right on target. Only $16.99 per bottle with $1 per bottle Shipping on Six and Free Shipping on a Case.

Burghound 88-91 Points-- This is quite ripe without being surmature, offering up notes of lemon, apple and peach with less obvious grass nuances. The rich, round and utterly delicious flavors possess ample extract, which confers a seductive texture onto the mouth coating finish. Lovely juice.
